Our Approach
A new approach to labor monitoring
Our mission is to transform labor & delivery with a minimally-invasive, ultrasound-enabled Foley catheter that monitors cervical dilation and fetal station, to enhance accuracy and empower safer, evidence-based decision-making in every delivery.
Objective Insights, Familiar Workflows
Our approach centers on providing continuous, objective insight into labor progression while minimizing invasiveness and disruption to care. Rather than introducing entirely new procedures, we focus on enhancing existing clinical workflows and tools already familiar to labor and delivery teams.
Safe and Practical
By prioritizing safety, usability, and clinical relevance from the earliest stages of development, we aim to address longstanding gaps in how labor progression is assessed. Our work is guided by close collaboration with clinicians and a deep understanding of the practical realities of labor and delivery units.
Because most laboring mothers request epidurals, a urinary catheter is also required in most situations. Our solution involves adding an ultrasound transducer to the catheter to monitor the cervix from within the bladder. Through machine learning, we can calculate the dilation of the cervix without discomfort or a high risk of infection.
We are building toward a future where critical labor decisions are supported by better data—delivered seamlessly, safely, and at the bedside.
